Breaking News

you may have noticed that things around here have been pretty quiet for the past 3 weeks.  yes, summer has come to Ascension.  the birds are singing, the sun is shining, and the 95-degree heat is making the air shimmer above the parking lot.  and, with the close of our youth group program year, you might think that Randomly Godlike is making an exit from this mortal coil.

But such is not the case!

First off, we need to congratulate all our amazing seniors.  Some of you have already graduated.  A lot of you are graduating this week.  You are incredible and we love you, and we are praying for God to bless you beyond your wildest dreams as you go off into the future!

Next … the senior high mission trip is coming up, and Randomly Godlike is going to be our virtual base for uploaded pics, stories, and updates each day of the trip.  We leave for Atlanta on June 27.  And, while the registration deadline was Sunday, June 1, I just might be able to squeeze you in if you are still wistfully thinking of joining us, so let me know asap!

Finally, our youth program is in for some exciting new developments over the summer.  Stay tuned to learn more …

This is a historic moment: the birth of the first ever inaugural official Ascension EYC blog.

What is this webpage for? It’s a place for anyone in senior high at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Dallas. And their friends. And their acquaintances. And anyone in the cybersphere who might stumble across this page. It’s a place for agnostics, catholics, evangelicals, skeptics, sacramentalists, seekers, liberals, conservatives, and even people who like Hannah Montana (though we might make fun of you from time to time, in a nice way). Basically it’s a place where we can post stuff about our life together, stuff we think is interesting, stuff we wonder about, and so forth.

At Ascension we are pretty much up for being your friend whoever you are, whatever school you go to, whoever you have a crush on, and whatever makes you tick. We are pretty much fond of Jesus and this whole church thing (but not in a creepy way). Also we like to do fun stuff, serve the poor and people who suffer, and use the brains God gave us to ask questions about life and what’s important.

Also we like lolcats.
